Alfonso Cuarón: Directing the Invisible Art | Framestore

Wonderful to hear Alfonso Cuarón's thoughts on animation and the important role animators play in creating appealing, believable performances. It's our job and privilege to breathe life into characters so that they can convincingly live and perform on their own on the screen. It's nice to see some of my shots from Gravity in this reel as well. It is by far the most challenging film I've ever worked on but also one that I'm exceedingly proud of. We had a massively talented crew working on that film at Framestore, and the opportunity to collaborate with such a renowned visionary director as Alfonso was remarkable.

DOOM: The Dark Ages

Last year was absolutely crazy! In addition to my teaching schedule at the University of Texas at Dallas and freelancing with Cloud 10 Studios, I had a wonderful opportunity to work in studio at id software on the upcoming DOOM: The Dark Ages. It was a bit of a reunion of sorts in the animation department (as well as other depts) because so many of us had worked together at Reel FX years ago.

I had a blast working on the cinematics for this amazing game. I animated on roughly 52 shots over the course of 7 months. Some of my electrocution shots of the Slayer are in the trailers below. The game releases this May 15th!
