Science Proves 3-D Movies Hurt Your Brain

Who didn't see this one coming? 3D causes headaches?! The funny thing is the first time I ever got a headache from a 3D movie was after Avatar. It might have been because it was so long? I still love the effect of 3D when used cinematically and not as a gimic.

From 'Rapunzel' to 'Tangled'?

From 'Rapunzel' to 'Tangled'? Really?

I'm not sure if I agree with the 'Rapunzel' title change Disney announced last week. If it's true that they're changing the title in reaction to the boxoffice performance of 'The Princess and the Frog' (and it's supposed lack luster popularity with young boys) then they're barking up the wrong tree. Any thoughts?

The Secret of Kells

I can't wait to see this film! The designs are great and I'm loving the animation -- as for the story I haven't heard much but the Oscar nod boosted my expectations quite a bit (very impressed that the Academy nominated this film!). It's like a breath of fresh air amid the smog of design complacency in this industry. I've been digging through the fantastic production blog for 'Kells' over the past couple of days. It has an archive going back to 2005 so there's tons to see! Very inspiring
work!
